The transfer of Radamel Falcao to Manchester United is set to cost up to £70million, Daily Star reports.
United manager Louis van Gaal has already claimed that the opportunity to sign the Colombian was too good to turn down, therefore making the £24million gamble to bring Falcao on loan.
To complete the move, the Red Devils had to pay Monaco a £6million fee, as well as paying the former Porto star around £18million-a-year in wages.
This puts Falcao as the highest earning player at the club, with captain Wayne Rooney receiving approximately £250,000-a-week.
The Old Trafford club also have an agreement with the Ligue-1 club to sign Falcao at the end of the season for around £45million.
Man United have been extremely busy in the transfer market this summer, spending over £150million in total.
The club broke the British transfer record by purchasing Angel di Maria from Real Madrid for £59.7million, adding to the likes of Ander Herrera for £29million, Luke Shaw for £27million, Marcos Rojo for £16million, and finally £14million for Dutch star Daley Blind.
To make room for Falcao, the Red Devils offloaded Javier Hernandez to Real Madrid on loan while Arsenal purchased Danny Welbeck for £16million on deadline day.
