Even though Manchester United have not formally appointed Louis van Gaal as their new manager, the Dutchman is already preparing to rebuild the squad with a move for Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman, Metro reports.
The 24-year-old was once a United target before the start of the campaign but decided on a move to Italian side Roma instead, however could now follow his national team boss to England.
News from Italy suggest that Van Gaal has allowed the Red Devils board to prepare a £25-million offer for the midfield enforcer, who has admitted his interest in joining the Dutch boss.
This looks to be just one of the many potential transfers in a major reshuffling for the club after a terrible campaign, with their first formal offer being a £25-million bid for Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
Strootman played a pivotal role in securing Holland’s part in this years World Cup, but will sadly miss out on the competition after picking up an injury.
