England forward Wayne Rooney reckon his and the rest of the squads fitness levels are as good as they can be going into the World Cup, as reported by ITV Sport.

The Manchester United man is no longer a shoe-in for a place in the Three Lions side and another lacklustre performance last night against Honduras will do nothing to improve that.

However, Rooney reckons he is as fit as he can be going to Brazil and wants to make the biggest impact possible.

“I am happy going to this final feeling fit,” Rooney said.

“I have played in every training session and I am excited.

“I am ready to play ready to enjoy it and hopefully ready to do well.

“I feel good and obviously playing against Ecuador (and the other matches) will have helped me as well after missing the games at the end of the season.

“I have trained hard feel good and am ready to play.”

England face Italy next Saturday, a game you can follow with us here at FootballFanCast.
