The Toffees have been hit with a mini injury crisis with Barcelona loanee Gerard Deulofeu joining Darren Gibson and Leighton Baines on the sidelines.
Martinez already has a number of loan players in his first team including Deulofeu, top scorer Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry but another one or two may be added to the squad in January to cover the injuries.
Matinez hopes to bring Baines, Aruna Kone and Gibson back into the side around the new year but the former Wigan boss is concerned at the lack of cover in his squad and with a European place a real prospect, quality replacements will be key for injured players.
“I will look if there are any options to bring in anyone in January, just to have that peace of mind and make the squad a little bit stronger,” Martinez said.
“It could be the loan market. It is a short term situation the one we are in.”
