Everton manager Roberto Martinez has categorically ruled out the chance of Leighton Baines leaving the club in January, as reported by the Sunday Mirror.
Manchester United looked set to make a move for the England left back in the new year as the ageing Patrice Evra could exit Old Trafford leaving former Everton gaffa David Moyes with a hole to fill.
Moyes is a big fan of Baines having signed him for the Merseyside club and seen him develop into one of, if not, the best wing back in the Premier League.
However Martinez will not be letting his man leave despite replacement Bryan Oviedo filling in admirably while Baines has been on the sidelines with a foot injury.
The Toffees boss has ruled out the chance of a move in the winter with a bold 100% statement.
“I can guarantee that Leighton Baines will be here at the end of the season. That is 100 percent,” Martinez said.
“Bryan Oviedo has been terrific while Baines has been injured, but we will need them both.”
