Everton manager Roberto Martinez is looking to sign Romelu Lukaku plus another six players to challenge in Europe next season, Daily Star reports.
Martinez has just recently signed a new five-year contract with the Toffees and is planning a major summer transfer spree.
The Spaniard is currently in Brazil working as a TV pundit while eyeing Dutch duo Jeremain Lens and Stefan de Vrij as potential signings.
Meanwhile Everton chairman Bill Kenright is in negotiations to keep both Gareth Barry and Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park, after the two played out a successful loan spell last season.
It seems likely that Barry will sign for the Toffees, as his Man City contract expires this summer.
But Kenright believes that a deal for Lukaku will also be completed due to his influence within Blues hierarchy.
He said: “Romelu was a great addition to Everton. He is an extraordinary boy who walks the walk as well as talking the talk.
“We would love to have him back and people at Chelsea are good friends of mine so we are hopeful.
“But he’s at the World Cup now and we will have to wait and see what happens.
“Gareth had a great season for us and I know the manager has spoken to him.
“I will meet his people and we are hopeful he will be here next season.”
