Everton are on the verge of finalizing the details of a possible move for Muhamed Besic from Ferencvaros, as negotiations with the player is set to begin upon an agreement, Daily Star reports.
The Bosnian midfielder has hinted that he is interested in a move to the English Premier League, with Goodison Park his preferred destination.
A deal of around £4million is believed to be in place as Roberto Martinez, who watched the 21-year-old at the World Cup and was impressed with his performance for his nation.
Besic is mainly deployed as a defensive midfielder and could be a like for like back up to new signing Gareth Barry, after a season-long loan spell.
Still quite young, he can learn from the likes of Barry through the course of the next season before eventually taking over as James McCarthy’s partner in the middle of the park for the Toffees.
