Former Manchester United player Paul Parker believes David Moyes should be chasing Southampton left back Luke Shaw ahead of Everton’s Leighton Baines, reports talkSPORT.
Manchester United failed with two bids for Baines in the summer, and Moyes is set to make a third offer for his former player this month.
Luke Shaw meanwhile has consistently impressed for Southampton this season, with the 18-year-old’s performances catching the attention of both Arsenal and Chelsea.
And Parker reckons United should turn their attentions to the Southampton youngster, ahead of a move for Baines.
“If you’re going to spend money and you’re looking for a bit of return on your investment then Luke Shaw is the one you want to get,” Parker said.
“As a good as Leighton Baines is, his price will be very high and where is your return? That’s the worrying point.
“Shaw has done very well so far this season and he’s a young player they can build into future teams.
“He’s a longer term prospect who is the better buy out of the two for me. Everyone is talking about him because he’s a very good prospect.”
