Angel Di Maria’s move from Real Madrid to Manchester United could rise to a massive £72million, according to The Mirror.
The Argentine winger has fallen out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu and is set to make a switch to Old Trafford this week.
However although a £60million fee has been agreed by the two clubs, another £12million could be included due to various add-ons.
The 26-year-old will break the British transfer record held by Fernando Torres, who moved to Chelsea on a £50million fee.
Di Maria was pushed down the Madrid pecking order this summer after the arrivals of Germany World Cup winner Toni Kroos and Colombia star James Rodriguez.
The former Benfica ace is expected to officially become a Red Devil early this week, and it is rumoured Di Maria will be given the iconic No.7 shirt previously worn by David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Eric Cantona.
If the transfer for Di Maria comes through, it would make Man United the biggest spenders in the continent this year, using up to £173million after the signings of Juan Mata during January, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, and Marcos Rojo last week.
