Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to make a January approach for Crystal Palace wonderkid Wilfried Zaha according to the Daily Mirror.

The 20-year-old netted for Palace yesterday at home to Huddersfield and has been on blistering form this season enticing the Premier League big boys.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already declared his interest in the youngster, much to Ian Holloway’s annoyance, but the Frenchman now faces competition from rivals Manchester United.

Zaha earned his first England cap this season and dominated Manchester United in Palace’s victory at Old Trafford in the Carling Cup this time last year.

The South London club are reportedly seeking £20million for the winger, but United will be hoping to lower that price by enticing Palace with the chance to loan the player back until the end of the season.

The Eagles are flying in the Championship and are adamant that they will keep hold of their key players in order to force promotion back to the Premier League.
