Arsenal have released striker Nicklas Bendtner after spending nine years at the club.
Arsene Wenger is preparing for a squad overhaul this summer as Bendtner now joins Bacary Sagna and Lukasz Fabianski on the departed list.
The striker is one of 11 players that will be leaving the Gunners this summer, as stated on the club’s official website.
“Arsenal can confirm that 11 players will be leaving the club when their contracts officially expire on June 30,” it read.
“Nicklas Bendtner and Park Ju-young come to the end of their contracts, while Kim Kallstrom and Emiliano Viviano’s loan spells are set to conclude.
“As already communicated, Bacary Sagna, Lukasz Fabianski and Zak Ansah have completed permanent moves to Manchester City, Swansea City and Charlton Athletic respectively.”
Bendtner is now available on a free after as his contract expires at the end of the month.
The Dane found it hard settling to life at the Emirates, being forced out on loan to Sunderland and Juventus recently.
The 26-year-year joined the Gunners back in 2004, but off-field incidents resulted in the striker falling short of fulfilling his potential.
Bendtner scored 47 goals in 168 appearances for Arsenal, playing his last game back in February.
