Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has admitted that he saw his dreams come true last night as he helped the club to Champions League success, as reported by Sky Sports.
Bale headed home the crucial goal to send Real towards the trophy after Sergio Ramos snatched a last minute equaliser to send the game into extra time.
The former Tottenham star has been in fine form in his first season since his £80million move to the Bernabeu despite not having the best of games in Lisbon last night.
A winning goal in a Champions League final for one of the biggest clubs in the world was just a dream for Bale before last night but the 24 year old admitted he couldn’t believe what had happened.
“This is what every footballer dreams of, winning the Champions League, it doesn’t come any bigger than that in club football,” Bale said.
“It was an unbelievable feeling, it will be a memory forever.
“The most important thing for me is we worked hard as a team tonight and won the trophy and the 10th title for the club.
“The price-tag means nothing. If I came here for a penny, I came to the club to play in big competitions and win trophies like we have this season.
“The move has paid off now and we want to win more now.”
