Liverpool’s Daniel Agger has come out to state his unhappiness at being seen as the third choice defender behind Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho, Daily Star reports.

Brendan Rodgers will feel uneasy at the recent comments made by the defender before he left for international duty with Denmark, highlighting the fact that he will not stay at the club if it means he will have to be an observer from the substitute’s bench.

In regards to being left out of important matches, the Danish star said: “It definitely wasn’t great. But I don’t make the decisions. I think it is because the manager doesn’t think that I’m good enough.

“[Will I be at Liverpool next season?] I don’t know. That’s up to the manager. I can’t go and put myself on the team sheet.

“I’m no one’s third choice. I’m not thinking about my future.

“Now my focus is on the next international games with Denmark and then I’m looking forward to a long five-week holiday.

“My body and my mind needs to relax.”
