Galatasaray will be looking to sell Wesley Sneijder to Manchester United so that they can use the funds from his sale to make a move for AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, Express reports.
The Dutch play-maker was a top target ever since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge but the club continued to be unable to land him.
With Louis van Gaal now in charge of United, the potential move is now back in play due to their close relationship after working together with the national squad.
Milan recently announced they will be looking at offers of just £14.5 million for Balotelli as Cesare Prandelli, who is now in charge of the Turkish side, wants to be reunited with the forward after he left his post as Italy’s manager.
Prandelli admitted that if Sneijder’s exit could bring the Italian star to Turkey, he would be willing to accept the deal.
Unal Aysal, Galatasaray’s president revealed the price the Red Devils need to meet in order to finally acquire the services of the 30-year-old.
“Wesley Sneijder has a release clause set at €20m [£16m].
“Any team that give us that money and he wants to go, we can’t keep him.
“Legally speaking, we have no right.”
