Swansea City have beaten Arsenal and West Ham to World Cup star Jefferson Montero, Express reports.
The Welsh side completed the move after a £4million fee was agreed with Mexican club Monarcas Morelia.
The Ecuadorian concluded his medical yesterday before signing a four-year deal with the club.
Montero was part of the Ecuador squad in the FIFA World Cup, but although the side were knocked out in the group stages, the 24-year-old put in some impressive displays.
The winger is now the Swan’s sixth summer signing after boss Gary Monk’s purchases of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lukasz Fabianski, Bafetimbi Gomis, Marvin Emnes, and Stephen Kingsley.
Montero has European experience, playing in the Spanish La Liga with Villareal before going out on loan twice to Levante and then Real Betis.
The new Swansea signing scored five goals in 15 outings for his former club before making the summer move to the Liberty.
