Harry hails ‘fantastic’ Gomes

Manager Harry Redknapp was relieved to see his Tottenham Hotspur side secure a slightly fortunate 2-0 victory at home to Sunderland.
Goals from Robbie Keane and Tom Huddlestone were enough to see off the Black Cats, although Spurs were grateful to keeper Heurelho Gomes for saving a penalty from former White Hart Lane striker Darren Bent.
The Brazilian was also fortunate not to be red-carded for the foul on Bent which resulted in the spot-kick.
Redknapp told Sky Sports News:"The keeper did what he does and was fantastic. He looked a world-class keeper today.
"He didn't feel it was a penalty, he's said he's pulled his arm away, he didn't actually stick his arm out.
"He's said that he's got kicked in the chest. I haven't seen the replay so I wouldn't be able to comment, but he's said he definitely didn't foul him.
"I thought he was going away from goal anyway and I don't even know if it was a penalty.
"But when keepers come out and make a genuine attempt to win the ball sometimes the forward may be quicker, they may just get a toe to it, but he was trying to get the ball – he didn't come out to bring the man down.
"I don't think you can send people off in that situation and ruin the football match. I think it was a yellow card if he did foul him and a penalty."
