Jordan Henderson believes Liverpool are well on course to finish the season having qualified for the Champions League, according to the Daily Star.

Henderson has been one of the stars of the season for Brendan Rodgers, having started every Premier League game so far.

He produced another excellent display on New Years Day as the Reds beat Hull City 2-0 to move back into the top four, and Henderson believes his team are well set to reach their target at the end of the season.

“We can definitely do it,” he said.

“That’s seven straight wins at Anfield and our aim is to make it very difficult for teams here.

Henderson also spoke of the importance of his side bouncing back from back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea.

“I think we can’t be too disheartened with the performances against Man City and Chelsea. I felt we played well and definitely deserved something out of both games.”I thought we matched them, if not were better than them, in the two games. We just didn’t get the bit of luck that we deserved.

“We had to forget about all that and put things right against Hull. It was very important to get back to winning ways after those two defeats.

“We’re back in the top four and I definitely believe we can stay there. Now we’ve got to keep it going and try to kick on for the rest of the season.”

Henderson is likely to start again this weekend, when Liverpool welcome League One Oldham to Anfield for the FA Cup third round clash.

The Reds suffered arguably their lowest point of the Brendan Rodgers era so far, losing to Oldham 3-2 in last season’s fourth round
