Pardew is set to find out how many games he is banned for this weekend after his headbutt on Tigers midfielder David Meyler last Saturday at the KC Stadium.
Bruce did not get involved in the incident as it took place and has urged others to now let the FA make their decision and punish how they see fit.
The City boss admits that every manager has done things they regret on the touchline but expects Pardew to face stiff consequences this weekend.
“All of us have done stupid things. Whether it is running up the touchline in celebration, or berating somebody, afterwards you sit back and go: ‘Aw, what have I done that for?’” Bruce said.
“The coverage of the Premier League now means it is scrutinised all around the world and the one thing we don’t want is to see images like we saw last week.
“Alan would be the first to understand that, and we now let the authorities make the right call on the punishment he will receive.”
