Hull City have signed Michael Dawson for an estimated £3million after the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back completed his medical ahead of the move, Skysports reports.
Steve Bruce has been monitoring the 30-year-old throughout the summer and has finally finalized all the proceedings to make the deal go through.
The now former Spurs captain is said to be happy to make the switch as the recent addition and form of Eric Dier saw his place at White Hart Lane under heavy threat.
“I know this club well and obviously there is some family history with my brother Andy having been here,” said Dawson.
“I’m just excited about getting started here now. The whole football club made it an attractive move to me – the manager, the squad of players, the fans. I feel ready and raring to go.
“Leaving Tottenham after ten years there was always going to be hard for me, but the chances to play there were going to be less and so a move to Hull City represented a great opportunity for me.
“At the end of the day, footballers want to play football and that wasn’t going to happen for me at Tottenham. Once the owners and the manager here had been in touch with me about the possibility of a move, I just knew it was right.”
