Hull City have set their sights on AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari, according to the Daily Star.
Tigers boss Steve Bruce is keen to strengthen City’s midfield this month, and is ready to offer Muntari a Premier League return with an offer of £3.9million.
Bruce has been busy already this month, splashing £14million on strikers Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long from Everton and West Brom last week.
But now he is targeting a new midfielder, after watching his side crash to three successive league defeats, which have left his side just five points clear of the relegation zone.
Ghana international Muntari has been made available for transfer following the sacking of Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri last week.
The former Portsmouth midfielder has previously played under Bruce, who took him on loan from Inter Milan during his time as Sunderland manager.
And a source revealed: “AC would ideally like to off load Muntari this month. If they don’t cash-in on him now, they will lose him for nothing when his contract runs out in the summer.
“He was close to Allegri and one of the former coach’s key players in the team. But that is no longer the case, and it appears his days at the San Siro are numbered.
“Sulley would welcome a return to England and the chance to work with Steve Bruce again.”
