Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo acknowledges that his side need to build on their Champions League and FA Cup triumphs going into the new Premier League season and he feels the best is yet to come from this squad of players.

Chelsea travel to Villa Park on Sunday for their Charity Shield clash with Premier League champions Manchester City and new permanent Chelsea boss Di Matteo knows that trophies are once again key for the West Londoners.

"There's plenty of trophies to win this season," Di Matteo said looking forward to the Charity Shield on Sunday.

"We have a very driven team of players and they are never satisfied with what they've done in the past.

"It's a fresh start for us. It won't be a problem from that point of view.

"There are a couple of trophies our players have never won, and challenging for the Premier League, too.

"We finished sixth last season and I don't think anybody is happy with that. We certainly have to do better."
