Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has undergone an abdominal surgery with no mention of any realistic return date, Skysports reports.
He has not featured competitively for his side since March as his latest treatment is confirmed by his club officials, meaning another huge halt in his footballing career.
However, he was on the road to recovering after appearing for his side’s pre-season tour of America, but it looks as though his pain has once again caught up to him.
A club statement read: “His pre-season preparations were disrupted by the abdominal injury and the decision to have surgery was taken following further medical assessment by specialists.”
Spurs thought he was cleared of any major operations, but based on Mauricio Pochettino’s comments, it seems Walker had no choice but to go under the knife in his bids to return to full fitness.
Pochettino said: “Kyle is good some days. On other days he has a bad feeling.
“We believe he may recover soon but we need to be calm with him because it is an injury that he has had for five months.”
