Manchester United have been boosted by the availability of Freddy Guarin, with Inter Milan open to selling the midfielder, Daily Star reports.
Guarin has been heavily linked since the days of Alex Ferguson with a move to Old Trafford, and could finally make the switch with Inter looking to offload the Colombian to make room for Parma winger Jonathan Biabiany.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Nerazurri chief Walter Mazzarri is extremely keen on bringing the Frenchman to the San Siro and is willing to sacrifice Guarin to pave way for the transfer.
United boss Louis van Gaal has been in the search of a midfielder to partner new signing Ander Herrera for some time, and with negotiations for Juventus star Arturo Vidal reaching a standstill, the Red Devils hierarchy may well turn their attentions to Guarin.
The Dutch boss is reportedly uncertain in regards to Vidal’s fitness, delaying a £47million offer with concerns over the Chilean’s knee problem.
Man United may however need to move fast to sign Guarin, who has also become a subject of interest for Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri.
