Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has claimed that he would not be interested in taking English player to the World Cup if he were able to, as reported by Sky Sports.
England meet Italy yet again at a major tournament, two years after penalty shoot-out heartache in Ukraine, but the Three Lions have a far better squad this time around.
Youngsters such as Ross Barkley, Raheem Sterling and Luke Shaw all have a good chance of making Roy Hodgson’s squad which is set to be announced on Monday.
Prandelli, although admitting that England have a decent side, claims that he would not swap a single player from Hodgson’s squad to get into his.
“Hodgson has found some very interesting players,” he said in an interview with Fox Sports.
“In particular when you consider them from a physical perspective. They are very technical and resistant.
“They have some interesting young players,” he added.
“Until around a year ago no one thought they would be able to make an impression in the Premier League.
“But I wouldn’t take anyone to have instead of my own players. We are a good team too.”
