Juventus are looking to sign Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski on a loan deal this summer, Daily Mail reports.
The capture of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona has pushed the German attacker down the Gunners’ pecking order, and Podolski is expected to leave the Emirates before the transfer window closes on the 1st of September.
After being linked with a move back to Germany, Juventus are now considering to take the former Bayern Munich man on loan, with the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
The Serie A champions have already informed Arsenal of their interest, with talks set to begin sometime this week.
During the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Everton the past weekend, Podolski didn’t even make the bench at Goodison Park, despite Germany international team-mates Mesut Ozil and Per Mertasacker both in the starting line-up.
Juventus are desperate to purchase another striker after new signing Alvaro Morata sustained a knee injury during his first training session.
They have therefore turned to Podolski, who has scored 28 goals in 69 appearances over the course of two seasons at the Emirates.
