Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo played down a possible move for Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez and Chelsea’s Fernando Torres, Mirror reports.
Despite the Premier League pair believed to be a top target for the La Liga side due to Diego Simeone’s intentions of bringing in additional strikers after the sale of Diego Costa, a move is not likely to be taking place.
The club have also been linked with Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla as well as Napoli’s Jose Callejon, but it looks as though Cerezo has halted any rumours linking his team with a move for two players.
“Many names have been mentioned, but none of those players, neither Cazorla, Callejon, Torres nor Chicharito (Hernandez) are on our agenda,” Cerezo said on Radio Marca.
“If we sign another player, it won’t be any of them.”
However, he did speak about his newest signing, Gunners target Antoine Griezmann who is is happy to have accuqired after an impressive World Cup display.
“Antoine is the most desired player in all of Europe, he has proved that, and he is the signing of the summer,” he said.
“He (Griezmann) is a great signing for the club, and we made a great effort to sign him. Despite having many offers, he decided to join Atletico, which is a huge club.”
