Lionel Messi’s future is still uncertain after his father remained coy over a suggested move to Paris St Germain, as reported by Sky Sports.
PSG are reportedly lining up a world record bid in excess of £100million for the Argentinean star who narrowly lost out on the Ballon D’or to long term rival Cristiano Ronaldo a few weeks ago.
Messi’s father, Jorge, has said that he doesn’t know what the future holds for his son although he is contracted to Barcelona and so is committed to them at present.
Jorge Messi revealed it is an honour for PSG to be linked with his lad but he is not thinking about leaving Barcelona at present.
“I have heard about those rumours and I don’t know where it came from,” Jorge Messi told L’Equipe when asked about PSG’s reported interested.
“There is nothing so far. Lionel is a Barcelona player, where he is under contract for several years [until 2018].
“It is an honour to know PSG could think about him. But I repeat it is not a subject we want to think about now.
“Can I assure Messi will play at Barca next season? He is under contract. Then in Football, you know we never know what can happen.
“I don’t know what will be tomorrow made of. Only God knows.”
