Liverpool ace Pepe Reina has asked the club to terminate his contract with the Reds unable to negotiate a transfer for the goalkeeper, Daily Star reports.
The Spaniard is keen on making a move away from Anfield and is extremely disgruntled at the lack of activity Liverpool have put on meeting his demand.
According to reports in Italy, the World Cup winner wants the Reds to end his contract two years before completion in order to facilitate his own move.
The 31-year-old spent last season on loan with Napoli in Serie A and is desperate not to return to Liverpool, with AC Milan also interested in his services.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid were also considering the shot-stopper, but both clubs have already found a goalkeeper to add to their ranks.
Reina became Liverpool’s undisputed number one after an £8million move from Villarreal back in 2005, before following former boss Rafa Benitez to Napoli last year.
