Liverpool ace Pepe Reina is set to have a medical before completing the £2.5million move to Bayern Munich, Daily Mail reports.
The Reds have accepted a £2.5million offer from the Bundesliga champions with the Spaniard desperate to make a permanent exit away from Anfield.
Reina was on loan at Serie A side Napoli last season with former boss Rafa Benitez, and is now not part of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers’ future plans for the club.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the move on the Bayern official website, stating: “The player will come to Munich in the next few days for a medical exam and to sign his contract. Pepe Reina was eager to come to Bayern Munich.
“He wanted to embark on this adventure even though he knows that, in Manuel Neuer, he has a keeper in front of him who, if nothing changes, will always remain the number one.”
The Bundesliga champions have brushed off other suitors in Napoli and AC Milan, who weren’t able to match Reina’s £110,000-a-week salary.
Reina will however play second-fiddle at the Allianz Arena, with Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer a guaranteed starter in the Bayern Munich goal.
