England Under-19 starlet Jordan Obita is currently being tracked by both Liverpool and Arsenal as they prepare to compete for the player’s services, Mirror reports.
The left-back, who was highly rated after some fine performances for Championship side Reading, is a transfer target due to his low asking price when compared to that of Southampton star Luke Shaw.
Brendan Rodgers has been monitoring Obita for quite some time while Arsene Wenger, who is known for signing young players, considers him to be a great prospect for the future even with Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal amongst his ranks.
Rodgers currently has problems at left-back with the likes of Jose Enrique being injured and Aly Cissokho possibly not continuing his loan and has highlighted his need to improve the team’s defensive aspect.
Obita has made 36 appearances for Reading this campaign and has been seen deployed throughout the left flanks, mostly playing as a left back, but has had appearances at left midfield as well as on left wing.
