The agent of Napoli star Eduardo Vargas has revealed that the Chilean is set to leave the club during the January transfer window.

The attacker has previously been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea after impressing in the Serie A.

It was thought that the Naples-based team were keen to keep hold of the 23-year-old, who is thought to have a big future ahead of him, but they have used him sparingly this term.

Due to this, his agent, Cristian Agalde, has revealed that his client is looking to leave the club sooner rather than later:

“I do not know if this is the last we’ll see of Vargas at Napoli,” he told Radio Gol, as reported by talkSPORT.

“That all depends on the club. It is very likely that he’ll leave though.

“That decision however, is entirely down to them. The player just wants to play again in order to feel important.”

Vargas has only been a Napoli player for just over a year, displaying glimpses of his potential towards the back end of last season.

He arrived in Italy for a reported £11.5m fee, with the Azurri beating a number of top European clubs to his signature.

Despite a solid start to has career with Napoli, the former Universidad de Chile star has struggled for first-team football this term.
