Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Southampton star Dejan Lovren for £20million, SkySPORTS reports.
The centre-back passed his medical and has signed his new contract the with negotiations towards the move being completed the previous week.
Lovren confirmed the move on the club’s official website by saying: “It’s a dream come true. I’m happy and glad to be here. I’m proud and can’t wait to start. I know we have millions and millions of supporters – Liverpool is more than a club.
“After I played at Anfield last season, I said to myself: ‘One day I hope I’ll be able to play here for Liverpool’.
“The fans will know from the first minute that I’m a player that will give 100 per cent on the pitch.”
The 25-year-old Croatian international is now the fifth player to make a switch to Anfield, following former team-mates Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, along with Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.
Brendan Rodgers is also very happy to have completed the deal by adding another defender to his squad.
