Liverpool are considering a summer move for £5million-rated Emirates winger Omar Abdulrahman, according to the Daily Star.

The 22-year-old plays for Al-Ain and the UAE national team, and was rated as the number one player in Asia in 2012.

Arsenal invited the player for a trial last summer, however he turned in down in the hope of landing a permanent move to the Premier League.

Abdulraham also had a trial at Manchester City following a star showing in the London Olympics, but a deal broke down due to work permit issues.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is still in the market for a wide player, having missed out on both Mohamed Salah and Ukrainian Yevhen Konoplyanka in the January transfer window.

Salah joined Chelsea after the Reds failed to agree a fee with FC Basel, whilst the club also failed to conclude a deal for Konoplyanka on deadline day.

Rodgers has hinted he could go back in for Konoplyanka in the summer, but Abdulrahman has now emerged as a cheaper alternative.

The Reds are set to reassess at the end of the season, and have asked chief scout Barry Hunter to keep a close eye on him until then.
