Liverpool are trying to make a move for former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o to serve as another option in attack, Mirror reports.
With the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona earlier in the window, Brendan Rodgers has been trying to find suitable replacements.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Stamford Bridge and it would cost almost nothing to bring him to Anfield.
His representatives are believed to have already begun negotiating over the switch with Eto’o being linked with a number of English Premier League clubs as well as other sides across Europe.
Both West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers were linked with the Cameroonian international in recent months, but due to his high wage demands, a move seemed highly unlikely.
He had a falling out with Jose Mourinho last season and is said to want to join a top side in order to prove his former manager wrong.
As talks continue, he could be a step closer to a potential link up with the Reds current strikers Rickie Lambert and Daniel Sturridge.
