Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Swansea hitman Wilfried Bony, Daily Star reports.
The Reds are eager to add some more firepower to their fearsome attack and have identified Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony as a priority target.
Bony has made a good first impression in his debut Premier League season – scoring 25 goals in all competitions for the Welsh side.
His high goal tally has alerted interest from England’s top clubs, but Arsenal and Liverpool are favourites to sign the 25-year-old striker.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping that the prospect of playing besides players such as Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard could persuade the £20million striker to join Anfield this summer.
However Swansea manager Gary Monk is likely to do all he can to keep his star striker, but may be unable to do so if a good bid was to come in.
Meanwhile Arsene Wenger won the FA Cup –first trophy in nine years – last weekend and has been under pressure from fans to purchase a strike-partner for Olivier Giroud.
The Gunners have targeted the likes of Bayern’s Mario Mandzukic as well as Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, but Wilfried Bony would be an adequate alternative.
