Liverpool have relaunched their attempts to sign Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno with another £18million bid, Mirror reports.

The Spanish defender has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield and could finally make the switch using the cash injected by Luis Suarez’s transfer to Barcelona.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is flying to Spain in the attempts to seal the capture of the 22-year-old.

Earlier negotiations between the two clubs stalled, as Sevilla were hoping to get a higher fee for their starlet.

But with the Spaniard looking to move and the La Liga club in financial difficulty, Liverpool have an excellent chance in agreeing on a deal.

The Reds are also monitoring Swansea’s Ben Davies as an alternative option if an agreement for Moreno can’t be reached.

Wilfried Bony is also of interest to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, with his 26 goals in all competitions enough to convince the boss he is capable of replacing the departed Luis Suarez.

Suarez has departed to Barcelona after the Catalan giants agreed on a £75million deal with the Merseyside club.

I’ll believe it when BR comes on BBC Radio Merseyside and gives the news, until then I’ll ignore our crappy, lying, disgusting phone tapping British journalists, and their Spanish compatriots.
