Liverpool are plotting a deadline day move for former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, according to the Daily Star.
Brendan Rodgers has been the busiest of all the Premier League managers this summer, bringing in nine new players for a combined cost of over £100million.
And Rodgers may well look to make it ten on deadline day, as he hunts for a top goalkeeper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet.
The Reds have allowed Pepe Reina to leave the club on a permanent deal this summer, joining Bayern Munich for a fee of £2million.
Valdes is available on a free transfer, after leaving Barcelona having rejected a new contract at the end of last season.
The Spaniard looked set to join French moneybags Monaco, but saw the deal collapse late on – leaving the door open for a deadline day switch to Anfield.
