Liverpool are looking to make a £12million loan bid for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao after AC Milan claimed the Reds made no offer for Mario Balotelli, Express reports.
Recent claims suggested that Liverpool made a £17.5m bid for Milan star Balotelli, but the Serie A side have denied their being any talks with the Merseyside club.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is however still eager to sign a striker to replace Luis Suarez, who left to Barcelona earlier in the summer.
Although Rodgers has already purchased Rickie Lambert and Belgium starlet Divock Origi, the latter has been sent back to Lille on loan while Lambert was purchased as more of a back-up for the departed Uruguayan.
However it seems Liverpool are prepared to spend £12million to bring Colombian striker Radamel Falcao to Anfield on loan, who is also being chased by Juventus and Manchester United.
Falcao only move to Ligue-1 side Monaco a year ago, but seems to have fallen out with board after fellow Colombian James Rodriguez was sold to Real Madrid for £60million.
The Reds were also extremely close in signing Queens Park Rangers attacker Loic Remy last month, only for the move to reportedly break down due to a failed medical.
