Liverpool have finally sealed the £19.8million move for Benfica star Lazar Markovic, with the midfielder bidding his farewells on social media, Metro reports.
The winger has been heavily linked with the Reds of late but is now set to complete their fourth major summer coup after Markovic finalized personal terms on Saturday.
The 20-year-old has said goodbye to his fans on social media platform Facebook, indicating that he will not be playing for Benfica in the coming season.
“Thank you for everything and goodbye!” he posted yesterday morning.
Liverpool have had a busy transfer window this summer, having already signed Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, and Emre Can.
The Reds will also lose star Luis Suarez to Barcelona shortly, which will cause Reds boss Brendan Rodgers to target a new striker before the season kicks off in August.
Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli have been mooted as possible replacements, but no official bids have been submitted.
