According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has expressed his desire to join Barcelona.
Suarez has recently received a four-month football ban after biting defender Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay’s final group game clash against Italy.
The punishment will see the Uruguayan unable to play football till November, yet Barca are still keen to sign the PFA Player of the Year.
And now the 27-year-old has told the Catalan club he is hoping for a move to the Nou Camp.
Luis Enrique is a known fan of the former Ajax star and sees Suarez as the man to return Barcelona to the top of European football after coming out trophy-less last season.
Reports suggest that the potential transfer of Suarez will be completed with a cash-plus-player deal involving one of Alexis Sanchez, Pedro, or Alex Song.
Suarez has just recently signed a new Liverpool contract back in December, but Barcelona are not concerned by his wage demands and his controversial temper, using their handling of former stars Hristo Stoichkov and Samuel Eto’o as examples.
