Luis Suarez has played down any transfer rumours linking him with Real Madrid and Barcelona, much to the delight of worried Liverpool fans, Daily Mail reports.
When asked about the interest from both the La Liga giants, Suarez replied saying: “As far as I’m aware there is no clause that suggests a priority for any team.
“My head now is focused on the World Cup. Everyone knows there will be media speculation this summer as there always is but I have a contract with Liverpool.”
The 27-year-old player admitted to often seeing his name being linked with moves to other clubs but he doesn’t take it too seriously.
“I just turn the page,” he added. “You know what the speculation is like and you try not to take any notice. I know what I want and it is more speculation than reality.”
Suarez became a huge target for a majority of clubs due to his sensational form this season, which earned him both the Barclay’s Premier League Player of the Season as well as the Golden Boot.
In addition to his accolades, the fiery Uruguayan could win the European Golden Boot if Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo fails to score in his final game of the season.
The two are currently tied, but if it remains that way Suarez will win due to his better goals per game ratio.
