Despite the likely signing of AC Milan star Mario Balotelli, Liverpool are still being linked with a loan move for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, Daily Star reports.
The Reds will however need to move quickly for the Colombian, with Serie A champions Juventus also looking to make a bold loan bid for Falcao.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was reportedly in talks to sign Cameroon hitman Samuel Eto’o on a free, but the move seems to have fallen through due to his high salary demands.
They will therefore make an audacious last effort to bring Falcao to Anfield, but according to sources in Italy, Juventus are ready to make an offer of their own after considering the financial impact of a potential deal.
To bring the former Porto star to the Juventus stadium, it has been estimated that it would cost up to £15million in wages, a number Liverpool must match in order convince Falcao to play in the Premier League rather than Serie A.
With Alvaro Morata sustaining an injury during his first training season with Juventus, the Old Lady have made signing a striker their priority target and the capture of Falcao will make them a feared force in this year’s Champions League campaign.
