Liverpool have targeted Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette to lead their attacking after the huge sale of Luis Suarez and potential breakdown in negotiations over moves for Wilfried Bony and Romelu Lukaku, Express reports.
From the £75 million sale of Suarez to Barcelona, Brendan Rodgers will have a huge amount of extra funds available in order to lure the 23-year-old attacking to Anfield.
The French ace scored 23 goals in all competitions, aiding his team to a fifth-place finish last season.
However, many of the Red’s supporters do not agree with Rodgers’ intentions to sign another young player in the attempt to improve his team.
He has already spent £20million on Lazar Markovic, who is only 20-years-old, with many fans questioning whether it is actually the most cost efficient move to make.
They believe that Lacazettle, although has a proven goal-scoring record in France, is still not a star player capable of replacing their top scorer, Suarez.
