Liverpool are believed to be planning a last minute offer to try and lure Ashley Cole to Anfield ahead of a possible switch to Roma, Express reports.
The Italian side are currently favourites to sign the former Chelsea left-back with negotiations taking place in what looks to be a potential two-year deal.
Brendan Rodgers has been searching for a left sided defender for quite a while and with the likely transfer failure of Alberto Moreno, Cole could be the perfect player to fill the role.
Having been made a free agent since his recent departure from Stamford Bridge, the 33-year-old has been receiving a lot of interest with the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Monaco also monitoring his situation.
The former England international is now given the choice of selecting his next destination but could reject all offers from Premier League clubs out of respect to his former side.
