Keylor Navas could return to Liverpool’s transfer target list after pulling off some spectacular saves for Costa Rica to ensure they reached the quarter finals of the World Cup, Daily Star reports.
The goalkeeper has been on top form for his nation and was already scouted by Brendan Rodgers back in March.
After a good season with Levante in the Spanish La Liga, the Reds were eyeing a move for the Costa Rican number one in hopes that he could provide much needed competition for Simon Mignolet.
The 27-year-old has an £8 million release clause on his current club contract but has revealed that he would rather continue his career in the La Liga, hinting at a possible move to Atletico Madrid.
The Levante president also knows of the interest surrounding their star keeper and earlier said: “We have the best keeper in the league right now and that is a privilege for us. Other clubs know the situation.”
However, with his recent display in Brazil, Rodgers, who still hasn’t found another player to play between the sticks, could still decide to make a move for the star.
