Liverpool look keen on taking advantage of Antonio Candreva’s recent bid for Champions League football, with Lazio unable to offer him what he wants, Express reports.
The Italian international put on a solid display in Italy’s recent 2-1 victory over England at the World Cup, increasing interest for the attacking midfielder.
However Brendan Rodgers will have to battle against the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain should they decide to table a formal offer.
The side have been tracking Candreva for some time, as their move for Southampton’s Adam Lallana seems to have broken down in negotiations.
With the upcoming Champions League campaign, Rodgers sees the £20 million rated winger as a possible addition to his squad in bids to improve the team with reinforcements as well as more attacking outlets.
However, Reds fans will need to be patient as the 27-year-old will only decide his future after he completes his national duties in Brazil.
He said: “A player’s ambitions are to do good things and to play at the best clubs and to play in the Champions League.
“I hope to play a good World Cup, then I’ll be happy about what will happen.”
