Liverpool have been told they will have to pay over £15million to land Lazio star Hernanes, according to talkSPORT.

The Reds are yet to bring in any new additions this month, despite Brendan Rodgers claims he was looking to sign players who could come into the first team and ‘hit the ground running.’

Playmaker Hernanes was believed to be one of those targets, with his excellent performances at the Stadio Olimpico attracting the Reds and a number of other clubs across Europe.

Liverpool’s hopes of landing the Brazilian could be boosted by the fact fellow countrymen Lucas Leiva and Phillipe Coutinho are already plying their trade at Anfield, and no doubt the Reds will hope they could play a part in helping lure the 28-year-old to the Premier League.

But Lazio president Claudio Lotito has revealed that only a mega money offer will be enough to see their star man move on this month.

“I do not want to sell him, we will have to receive an indecent offer – £15m will not be enough,” he revealed.

Hernanes has been strongly linked with a move for some time, although the Brazilian has not given much away.

The former Sao Paulo man recently said: “I do not want to hear these stories, I want to focus on my work and help the team.”
