Liverpool playmaker Suso believes he has to step up into the first team at Anfield this season and not go out on loan again, as reported by the club’s official site.

The Spain under-21 international enjoyed a successful time at Almeria last season but knows it is now or never in terms of his career on Merseyside as pre-season gets underway.

Suso scored a magical goal against Preston North End in a friendly yesterday and is now keen to show boss Brendan Rodgers exactly how good he is to fight his way into the managers’ plans.

“I really want to be here and play for Liverpool and I’m trying to do my best every day in training and show the manager what I’m capable of.

“I learned a lot during my loan spell and I was playing regular football. I’m not really a young player anymore so I’ve got more responsibilities now and I will work as hard as I can to try and get a chance.”

“I’m looking forward to going with the lads on tour and it will be a great two weeks to play against some really good teams and we want to get to the final,” said the 20-year-old.

“We are also excited to see all the Liverpool fans in America.”
