Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that it would take some time before his team are back amongst the best, Express reports.
The Dutch boss stated that winning results did not come his way immediately, as it takes time for his methods to be understood by his players.
Van Gaal has therefore asked for patience, and that fans should not expect success any time soon.
However the United chief is prepared to bring the Red Devils back to their glory days, in the same manner he brought Bayern Munich to the top after an underwhelming first season.
“Every club where I have been, I have struggled for the first three months,” he said.
“After that, they know what I want: how I am as a human being and also a manager, because I am very direct. I say things as they are, so you have to adapt to that way of coaching. It’s not so easy.
“When we survive the first three months, it will be the same as for me at Bayern.
Van Gaal has however raised his reputation during the course of the summer by guiding Holland into the semi-finals of the World Cup.
