Newcastle United have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for Chilean star Mauricio Isla, Express reports.
The Juventus full-back was one of the stars for Chile in the World Cup, putting in some impressive displays before his nation were knocked out against hosts Brazil in the last-sixteen via a penalty shoot-out.
Isla’s excellent form has alerted of host of Europe’s top sides, with Liverpool and Arsenal keen on the player.
The Reds and the Gunners have reportedly been snubbed by the former Udinese man recently, opting to stay with the Serie A champions.
However according to Chilean publication El Mercurio, Newcastle have made an enquiry over Isla’s availability.
It has been suggested that the Magpies are ready to make an offer of around £8million for his services at Tyne-side.
Although Isla already spent two seasons in Turin, the 26-year-old only made 14 league appearances for Juventus last term and could make the switch for regular playing time.
Isla is reportedly demanding an annual salary of £2million, which Newcastle believe they can offer.
